It had been a frustrating day for Jerry Chau Chun-lok leading into the last race of the day but he made up for it with a dashing effort aboard Embraces.

Chau, who had lost by a short-head on Lucky Eight in the feature race, found himself back in the ruck on the favorite but switched off heels to find clear air in the straight and produced a strong drive to the line.

The 24-year-old was equal 10th in the jockeys' championship last season and he is maintaining his spot on a talented jockeys' roster.

Chau's win on Embraces was his 11th of the season, good enough for 11th in the standings.
