Tiger Circle is a community dedicated to Gen Z and young newcomers to Hong Kong. Through our social platform (@tigercircle.hk), we bring together growth and global perspectives, empowering them to tell Hong Kong’s story in their own way and to shape their future.
Tiger Circle has collaborated deeply with content creator Katie Lo. Katie perfectly embodies the spirit of Tiger Circle, blending online buzz with community engagement. Together, we produced two representative Reels that explore the fun and unique details of Hong Kong life:
- “Hong Kong English Habits”: Highlighting everyday expressions such as “Confirm” and “Mark the schedule.”
- “Unique Hong Kong Slang”: Decoding local slang for a global audience, such as “Old Seafood.”
Katie is also a world-class orchestral musician and social entrepreneur. She graduated with distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in the UK and holds a First-Class Honours degree from the University of Hong Kong. She has performed with leading ensembles, including the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2018, Katie founded the Aspire Charity Harp Foundation, dedicated to enhancing the impact of harp music in the community. To date, the foundation has raised over HKD 700,000 for various charities. She also manages Aspire Harp & Music, offering professional harp performances and music education services alongside her career as a performing artist.
With her dual background in international business & global management and music, Katie combines the discipline of a classical musician with the drive of a social entrepreneur. She is a true example of a “future leader.” Her story shows Tiger Circle’s Gen Z community that with determination, it is possible to build a life that is both successful and meaningful.
