Zinedine Zidane has stepped down as Real Madrid coach with immediate effect, five days after his team were pipped to the Spanish league title by Atletico Madrid.
The Frenchman led Real to two La Liga titles and three Champions League triumphs in two spells as coach since 2016.
Real said they respected Zidane's decision to leave and thanked him for his "professionalism, dedication and passion ... and for what he represents for Real Madrid."
Zidane, 48, stepped down after the last of those Champions League titles in 2018, saying the club needed a change, but returned in March 2019 on a three-year deal after the club sacked his two successors, Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari.
He is the second high-profile coach to quit in as many days after Antonio Conte parted company with Inter Milan, just days after lifting their first Italian Serie A title in 11 years. Conte reportedly clashed with the club's cash-strapped Chinese owners on the way forward.
