Woman dies after being pulled from sea off Tsuen Wan

A woman in her 60s died after being rescued from the sea off Tsuen Wan early on Friday morning.

Police received a report around midnight that a woman was seen floating in the water about 20 metres from shore near Belvedere Garden on Castle Peak Road.

Marine police rescued the unconscious woman and brought her ashore. Paramedics performed emergency treatment and used an automated CPR machine during the ambulance ride to Yan Chai Hospital, where she later died.

Officers were seen holding a handbag believed to belong to the victim at the scene. Investigations into her identity and the cause of the incident are ongoing.
