Truck overturns on Cheung Ching Road, causes traffic disruption to airport

A box truck overturned on Cheung Ching Road in Tsing Yi on Wednesday evening after colliding with a van, blocking multiple lanes and causing severe traffic congestion towards the airport.

The incident occurred around 7pm near the Shell oil depot at Kam Chuk Kok on the Tuen Mun-bound section. A box truck and a van collided, with the box truck flipping onto its side. Both drivers were unhurt, with the truck driver climbing out of the vehicle on his own.

Some lanes were closed following the accident, with intermittent closures on Cheung Ching Tunnel and Nam Wan Tunnel towards the airport. The Transport Department advised drivers to use alternative routes such as Tsuen Wan Road. Traffic remained heavy as of 10pm.
