Police seize HK$610,000 worth of drugs in Tsing Yi raid, arrest two

Police have arrested a man and a woman and seized drugs worth about HK$610,000 during an anti-narcotics operation in Tsing Yi on Monday.

Officers from the Tseung Kwan O district special duty squad raided a village house unit in Tsing Yi after gathering intelligence and conducting an in-depth investigation.

During the operation, they confiscated approximately 413 grams of suspected cocaine, 311 grams of suspected ketamine, 117 grams of suspected cannabis grass, and a batch of suspected drug packaging equipment.

A 40-year-old local woman and a 31-year-old local man were arrested on suspicion of "trafficking in dangerous drugs."

The two suspects are currently detained for investigation.

Police reiterated that "trafficking in dangerous drugs" is a serious offense. Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, anyone convicted of the offense faces a maximum penalty of a HK$5 million fine and life imprisonment. They urged the public not to break the law.
