Suspected cat theft reported at Yau Tong meat stall

Police are investigating a suspected cat theft after a meat stall's resident cat went missing in Yau Tong, with CCTV suggesting a man and a woman took the animal.

A report was filed around 5pm on Sunday that the cat, named "OK Jai", had been missing since last Thursday. The five-year-old yellow male cat, neutered and vaccinated, wore a black collar.

The meat stall at Ka Wah Arcade closes at 7pm daily, leaving a passage for the cat to come and go. The owner last saw OK Jai sleeping outside the stall when closing last Thursday, but the cat had not returned when he reopened at 5am the next day. After an unsuccessful search, a female security guard told him a man and a woman had been seen taking the cat from a nearby park.

The case is being handled by the Kwun Tong district criminal investigation team.
