Former employee arrested for suspected theft at Yau Tong shopping mall

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing cash and mobile phones from a shop at Lei Yue Mun Plaza in Yau Tong.

The shop owner reported the burglary at around 3pm on Tuesday, stating a loss of about HK$1,150 in cash and three mobile phones worth approximately HK$10,500.

Police conducted a preliminary investigation and subsequently arrested the Lee surnamed man at a nearby public housing estate in Yau Lai Estate. The suspect is a former employee of the shop.

He is being detained for questioning. The case is being handled by the Criminal Investigation Team of Kwun Tong district.
