Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po is set to depart for Beijing on Wednesday afternoon to attend a seminar on the National 15th Five-Year Plan, the China Development Forum 2026, and the eighth meeting of the Mainland and Hong Kong Economic and Trade Co-operation Committee.
Chan and leaders from the relevant central ministries will attend the seminar on the National 15th Five-Year Plan on Thursday to explore how Hong Kong can better integrate into and serve the nation’s overall development, as well as the vast opportunities the blueprint brings to Hong Kong businesses.
Next Monday (Mar 23), he will co-chair the eighth meeting of the Mainland and Hong Kong Economic and Trade Co-operation Committee with Assistant Minister of Commerce Yuan Xiaoming. The meeting will review work about bilateral economic and trade co-operation and discuss the future direction of collaboration.
During his visit, Chan will also meet with relevant central ministries and financial regulators.
Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui Ching-yu and Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau Ying-wah will also depart for Beijing separately today.
Together with Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Sun Dong, who is currently visiting Beijing, they will join Chan for some events.
