A 62-year-old building supervisor died on Thursday after collapsing at his office in Yue Wan Estate, Chai Wan.
The man, surnamed Wong, collapsed around 3pm at the office in Yue Shun House. Colleagues found him unconscious and called emergency services. Paramedics rushed him to Eastern Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death is pending a post-mortem examination.
The Housing Authority expressed deep sorrow over his passing, stating the man was employed by a security services contractor as a building supervisor. The authority has contacted his family to offer condolences and will work with the contractor to provide appropriate assistance.
According to sources, the man lived in Choi Wan Estate and had worked as a clerical officer for five years with no known chronic illnesses. He was reassigned to Yue Wan Estate six months ago. After lunch, he complained of chest discomfort and rested at his desk. Around 3pm, colleagues found him unconscious with his head tilted back and foaming at the mouth. They performed CPR and called for help, but he could not be saved.
Police are investigating the incident.
