A 45-year-old man was arrested for allegedly wounding his 31-year-old half-sister with a meat cleaver in their Cheung Sha Wan flat early Wednesday.
Police were called to Yuen Lok House in Un Chau Estate after midnight. The woman, surnamed Yip, was found conscious with a head injury and taken to Caritas Medical Centre.
The man, also surnamed Yip, was detained at the scene. He was believed to have called his half-sister earlier, claiming their father was injured in an accident. When she arrived at the flat, he allegedly attacked her with the cleaver.
Initial investigations suggested the pair had a long-running dispute. The man, a tenant of the flat, was arrested on suspicion of wounding.
Their father was also taken to Caritas Medical Centre for treatment and examination. He was conscious.
The case is being handled by the Sham Shui Po district crime squad.
