A woman was burned and more than ten residents were forced onto a rooftop during a residential fire in Tuen Mun early Wednesday.
The blaze broke out in a low-floor unit at Prime View Garden Block 4 at about 2am. The female occupant, who lives alone, escaped the unit with burns to her hands and was taken to Tuen Mun Hospital.
More than ten other residents evacuated to the building's rooftop and called for help. Firefighters deployed one hose and a breathing apparatus team to extinguish the flames.
Two cats were rescued from the building, with one requiring emergency first aid. Preliminary investigations suggest the fire was accidentally started when the occupant knocked over a burning incense burner.
