A long stretch of the Tolo Highway towards Kowloon remains completely shut following the catastrophic fire at Wang Fuk Court, leaving commuters facing significant disruption as several key KMB bus routes serving Tai Po have been forced to take lengthy detours and skip multiple stops.
The Transport Department announced that the southbound section of Tai Po Road–Yuen Chau Tsai, between Nam Wan Road and the Tolo Highway, will stay closed for the foreseeable future, meaning routes 72, 72A, 73A and 74A heading from Tai Po towards Sha Tin and beyond can no longer follow their normal paths along the highway.
Passengers are urged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and keep checking radio bulletins, television updates, or the Hong Kong eMobility app for the latest traffic information as the city continues to grapple with the aftermath of the tragedy.
