Police have arrested 19 people during an operation targeting illegal immigrants and workers in Kowloon City and Hung Hom on Monday.
Kowloon City police district special duty team and task force, together with immigration department officers, conducted the operation codenamed CHAMPION.
Those arrested included two mainland Chinese men and 16 mainland Chinese women aged between 24 and 57 for breaching conditions of stay. A 47-year-old foreign woman was arrested for unauthorized stay in Hong Kong.
All arrested persons are currently in custody for investigation and will later be handed over to relevant departments.
Police emphasized Kowloon City district's commitment to combating illegal activities involving illegal immigrants and workers, collaborating with relevant departments and stakeholders to gather intelligence and conduct raids or joint operations at various locations.
