A 44-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend at a Tsim Sha Tsui guesthouse after she rejected his attempt to reconcile on Sunday afternoon.
Police received a report from a male staff member at a guesthouse in Tsimshatsui Mansion on Nathan Road around 3pm, stating his 45-year-old female colleague had been attacked by her former boyfriend.
Officers arrived to find the victim with minor injuries to her face, hands and feet. She was transported to Kwong Wah Hospital for treatment.
The scene showed the guesthouse in disarray with bedding and items scattered across the floor. Investigation revealed the couple had broken up approximately two weeks earlier. The woman, a staff member at the guesthouse, had stayed overnight there Saturday.
When her ex-boyfriend visited Sunday seeking reconciliation and she verbally refused, he allegedly assaulted her by choking her, biting her arm and slapping her face. The suspect left temporarily but returned later to kick and damage a guestroom door.
Police arrested the man for assault and criminal damage. The case has been assigned to the Yau Tsim district crime squad.
