The Council of the Law Society of Hong Kong re-elected Roden Tong Man-lung as president for the 2025/26 term at its meeting on Tuesday.
According to the Society, Tong is currently the Chief Executive of Berkley Insurance Company, with a strong focus on Financial Lines and Specialty insurance.
He has deep expertise in handling complex claims across Asia, including Lehman-related investment mis-selling cases, US securities class actions against Hong Kong and mainland China companies, US SEC investigations, and large-scale fidelity claims.
The Society also announced that Amirali B. Nasir, Christopher Yu Kwok-kin, and Careen Wong Hau-yan were re-elected as Vice-Presidents.
Nasir, the founder of Nasirs Solicitors, has been involved in various committees of the Society since about 1995 and first joined the Society Council in 2005.
His main areas of practice are dispute resolution, company, commercial, Islamic finance, property, trusts, and notarial services.
Meanwhile, Yu is one of the partners of Howse Williams, one of the largest Hong Kong independent firms. He joined the Society Council in 2019 and has been Vice-President since 2021.
Wong has endeavored to cooperate with all Council members in promoting the rule of law since joining the Council, enhancing professional standards, and exploring opportunities for the legal profession.
