Three young barristers were awarded the Charles Ching Memorial Scholarship by the Hong Kong Bar Association to pursue overseas studies, marking the 25th anniversary of the Scholarship.

The Scholarship covers the awardees, including Valerie Kwok, Oliver Tse and Jamie Pang, for their overseas study expenses, including tuition fees, airfare and living costs.
Speaking at the ceremony on Wednesday night, Jose-Antonio Maurellet, Chairman of the Bar Association, noted that over 90 barristers have received the Scholarship to date, with nearly HK$3.5 million granted in total.
He described the 25th anniversary as a major milestone, reflecting the Association’s unwavering commitment over the past quarter-century to actively nurture young local talent.
Maurellet also praised Charles Ching as “a legendary figure” in the legal sector and one of the most outstanding and successful representatives in history.
Guests at the ceremony included Secretary for Justice Paul Lam Ting-kwok and District Judge Adriana Noelle Tse Ching.
