Some residents have recently noticed that photos of Kowloon Peak shrouded in clouds, which were taken from the junction of Healthy Street East and King's Road in Quarry Bay, resemble Mount Fuji in Japan.
The post gained traction on Threads and quickly spread across social media platforms like Xiaohongshu.
As seen on Sunday, some people ventured into the middle of the road to capture the perfect photo angle.
Many locals joked that the scene would resemble Mount Fuji if the clouds were more prominent, while others pointed out that the "Hong Kong version of Mount Fuji" has its unique charm.
A tourist from Shenzhen, surnamed Wang, mentioned that she was just passing through but found the view absolutely stunning.
A resident, surnamed Lai, aware of the recent buzz surrounding the "Hong Kong version of Mount Fuji," opted to snap some photos during his walk.
Another passerby, Ho, commented that he didn't think it resembled Mount Fuji much at all. "I think it is attributed to the sunny weather as there was not much haze," he said.
Lo, another local, shared that the captivating online photos lured him to stroll around the area.
