Firefighters were called to extinguish a cement mixer on fire in Tsing Yi after the driver's own attempt failed early Tuesday morning.
At about 2 am today on Tsing Yi Road West, a cement mixer parked at the address suddenly started smoking with flames erupting from the front of the vehicle.
The male driver tried to put it out himself but failed, and called the police for help.
Firefighters rushed to the scene and quickly put out the fire.
Firefighters are currently investigating the cause of the incident, and no injuries have been reported.
According to the driver, surnamed Poon, he was originally scheduled to go to the nearby cement factory to start work around 7 am.
At about 1 am, he parked the truck at the site and prepared to sleep.
However, around 2 am, the mixer suddenly burst into smoking flames.
