An anti-vice operation was conducted in Tsim Sha Tsui on Tuesday night, with police arresting 11 female sex workers. Sources said the arrestees included 37-year-old Japanese adult video actress Minato Maiha.

The 11 arrestees were confirmed to have come from Hong Kong, Japan, and mainland China. They were arrested in a hotel at Nathan Road, a residential building at Cameron Road, as well as in the Tsim Sha Tsui district.
Police believed they have cracked a prostitution syndicate with the arrests of two other women and a man, including the ringleader.
According to the police’s findings, the syndicate advertised sexual services through social media platforms, charging their clients between HK$6,000 to HK$7,000 per session for the adult actresses to offer sexual services.
According to the Immigration Ordinance, it is illegal for persons who land in Hong Kong to seek employment or establish businesses.
Violators face up to three years of imprisonment and a fine of HK$50,000.
Meanwhile, the maximum penalty for those who hire such persons face up to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of HK$500,000.
