The Hong Kong Police Force confirmed today that the Commissioner of Police, Raymond Siu Chak-yee, tested positive for Covid through a rapid antigen test and is now under quarantine.

According to the force’s statement, the last time Siu was at work was yesterday, August 22. He had worn a mask, abided by the anti-epidemic measurements during his duty hours, and had no recent travel history.
The force said it has conducted thorough cleaning and disinfection at the relevant offices and arranged for relevant staff members to undergo Covid tests in accordance with the advice from the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health and reminded citizens to pay more attention to self-prevention methods to avoid contracting the virus.
