The death of yoga instructor Aqua Chow Wai-yin, 23, triggered an internet investigation into the past of her 28-year-old ex-boyfriend who was arrested Thursday night.

Meanwhile, police looked into the security footage of Chow's home and found her leaving the place alongside the ex-boyfriend, surnamed Lo, peacefully around 4pm on Wednesday.
Chow had gone missing since Wednesday afternoon and her body, sustaining over 30 slashes, was located by police on Thursday night in a West Kowloon hotel room.
Netizens soon flooded forums and social media platforms with the background of the suspected murderer Lo. Some accused Lo owed money to others, beat women, and even forced pregnant girlfriends to undergo abortion.
Others added that Lo was an outstanding martial arts athlete and won multiple awards for the city when he was young, including the Hong Kong Sports Star Award.
It was understood that Chow suffered from mental illnesses and police attached great importance to the Chow's missing.
On Thursday, officers were mobilized to Chow's home in Sham Shui Po and questioned citizens nearby to see if anyone had seen Chow.
Around 8pm, Lo accompanied by a lawyer arrived at a police station to help with the investigation but remained silent. Chow's body was found by police in a hotel room about 10pm.
Officers believed Chow had been dead since Wednesday night, awaiting an autopsy to confirm her actual cause of death.
They added there has yet to be any evidence pointing to monetary relationship between Chow and Lo.
