Hong Kong Disneyland Resort presents "Momentous" - The Most Magical Show on Earth

The all-new nighttime spectacular will ignite guests’ hearts through a magical multimedia experience in an awe-inspiring journey of life.

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort lit up the night sky on June 14 with a gala premiere of its highly-anticipated “Momentous” – The Most Magical Show on Earth, thrilling the event guests with a fascinating journey in the company of their beloved Disney and Pixar characters. Incorporating music and a host of multi-sensory elements, the new nighttime spectacular is filled with inspiring and sentimental moments that bring the Castle of Magical Dreams to life once again, delighting guests and their families every night when it officially launches this Saturday, June 18.

At the opening ceremony, Sorcerer Mickey were joined onstage by officiating guests Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong SAR Government, and Michael Moriarty, managing director of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.

“This brand-new nighttime spectacular will take the magical charm of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort to a whole new level,” Moriarty enthuses. “Our talented local and international cast members began working on this project back when our new castle didn’t even exist five years ago! We’re proud to unveil this much-anticipated new spectacular for the very first time and we’re sure that our guests will be captivated, wanting to come again and again to watch the most magical show on earth.”

Set sail on the journey of a lifetime

To take guests on this momentous journey, the new show celebrates each stage of life through a series of six chapters, with projection images of approximately 150 characters from almost 40 Disney and Pixar stories. The show also illuminates the resort’s night sky with a stunning combination of multimedia elements, some of which are being used for the first time ever at Hong Kong Disneyland. The technology includes large-scale projection mapping, water projections, theatrical lighting, lasers, choreographed water fountains, flames, pyrotechnics, and firework effects.

Through “Momentous,” guests embark on the journey of a lifetime, from tender new beginnings and the playful joy of childhood to growing up, finding ourselves, falling in love, overcoming obstacles and reminiscing those who inspire us. It’s a nighttime spectacular that is not-to-be-missed for those looking for an entertaining evening out in Hong Kong.

Meet and connect with beloved characters

While enjoying all the characters, stories, and music in the spectacular, guests can also meet some of the featured characters in person thanks to a brand new “Momentous” backdrop in The Annex! Beloved friends from iconic stories will appear to take some unforgettable selfies with guests.

Guests can begin their night with a bang at Starliner Diner, where they will discover an all-new dessert buffet, as well as a free flow of character-themed desserts. Next stop is a special reserved viewing area to savor the main course of the night – “Momentous.” Guests can also try the Lychee Flavored Special Drink or Blueberry and Blackcurrant Flavored Special Drink, both with a Mickey Glow Cube in it that guests can keep as a souvenir. Or pick up a Blossom Cotton Candy with Lighted Rod, which glows in the dark!

To celebrate the awe-inspiring arrival of “Momentous,” the resort has created a brand-new series of light-up items, including personalized headbands, disposable masks, necklaces, limited edition pins, glow wands and T-shirts with reflective color effects, so guests can create an eye-catching nighttime look. These items feature a one-of-a-kind logo that embodies the theme of the show, with bright colors representing the vibrant and kaleidoscopic nature of the performance.
