The Hong Kong Jockey Club held a plaque unveiling ceremony of the Racing Talent Training Centre at the Apprentice Jockeys’ School on Sunday.
With the Apprentice Jockeys’ School entering its 50th anniversary, the Racing Development Board will be transformed into the Racing Talent Training Centre with two schools under it.
The two schools, Apprentice Jockeys’ School and Racing Talent School, deliver riding and non-riding programmes respectively.
While the Jockeys’ School will continue to provide riding training, the Talent School will provide skills training for non-riding professionals including stable assistants and farriers.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Jockeys' School and its contribution to Hong Kong horse racing talents, the Jockey Club will stage the Apprentice Jockeys’ School 50th Anniversary Race Day at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday, 5 June.
