Singer-actor Andy Lau Tak-wah has been to the sharp end of the anti-virus campaign to thank medics fighting Covid -- a personal push seen in a video posted online.
That meant the 60-year-old Lau took time out from filming a new movie on the mainland and came on top of him singing "fight the virus" to the beat of Cantopop song Below the Lion Rock and also donating rapid test kits to the needy.
Scenes of Lau's outing were in a video on the website of his fan club, in which he says: “The outbreak in Hong Kong is very serious, but we shall get through this as long as we fight together.
“I hereby express my heart-felt gratitude to front-line workers, medics and volunteers. Thank you all for working hard for Hongkongers’ health.”
Lau said too that he was praying for people infected with Covid and wished them speedy recoveries.
“I believe all of us are being extra cautious to protect our families and the public," he added, so "we must wear our masks properly and reduce gatherings. A little effort from each and everyone will generate great power. Let’s fight together.”
