Chris Tang wants university to follow up on lecturer's remarks

Police commissioner Chris Tang Ping-kueng has written to Education University of Hong Kong president, Stephen Cheung Yan-leung, saying that he hopes Cheung will follow up on lecturer Sam Choi Chun-wai's remarks on an episode of RTHK program Pentaprism that was aired in November last year.

Tang cited the Communication Authority as saying last week that it found that the remarks made in the program were irresponsible and could be regarded as hate speech with the effect of inciting hatred against police.

The university said it has received the letter and that it will handle it in accordance with the established mechanism and procedures.
