The Securities and Futures Commission has teamed up with Radio Television Hong Kong to produce a law-enforcement TV drama to illustrate scams that will premier today.

The true-to-life TV drama will reveal the prevalent investment scams and other market misconducts, to help viewers avoid falling victim to these scams, it said in a statement yesterday.
Consisting of four 30-minute episodes in Cantonese, the series recounts the SFC's major enforcement cases in recent years with a focus on social media investment scams, ramp-and-dump schemes, insider dealing, and market manipulation, it said
Meanwhile, the SFC cautioned the public against instant text messages from scammers impersonating the SFC's senior executives including its chairman.
It said members of the public recently reported to the SFC that they had received text messages on WhatsApp from individuals claiming to be the SFC's chairman Tim Lui Tim-leung.
Separately, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (0388) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Xi'an government to support Xi'an-based companies seeking a listing in Hong Kong.
