Sino Group said its three major shopping malls recorded a 10 percent year-on-year growth in footfall, and a 15 percent rise in sales over the three-day Dragon Boat Festival weekend.

Retailers reported a 10 to 15 percent increase in both traffic and turnover during the holiday, while Chinese restaurants also saw a 20 percent year-over-year expansion in Olympian City, tmtplaza and Citywalk, said Bella Chhoa Peck-lim, asset management director, in a statement yesterday.
Although the third phase of the vaccine pass has been implemented since May 31 restaurant operators have reported an improvement in sales, with many seeing customers queue outside, Chhoa said.
Some restaurant tenants said that since the dine-in cap for the number of diners per table was relaxed to eight their sales have jumped significantly, the statement said.
