Italian luxury carmaker Ferrari's first fully electric model, the Luce's bespoke edition 'Tailor Made' fetched US$40 million (HK$312 million) at a RM Sotheby's charity auction, setting a record as the most expensive new car ever sold at auction.
The previous benchmark was set last year by a customized Ferrari Daytona SP3, which sold for US$26 million.

Ferrari unveiled the model Luce in May with a retail price of €550,000 (HK$5 million), and drew some criticism about the designs, leading to the company's share fall.
Ferrari Luce was co‑developed with creative firm LoveFrom, creating supercars with sleek body lines and minimalist detailing, distinct from Ferrari's muscular and low‑slung traditional designs.
The new design strips away the marque's signature engine roar, marking the Luce 's step to turn Ferrari from era of internal combustion supercars to full electrification.
