Hang Seng Index rises over 350 points by midday close

Hong Kong stocks rallied at noon on Friday, with gold-related shares leading the gains.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index jumped by 361 points, or 1.57 percent, to 23, 416 at noon.

The Hang Seng Tech Index went up 2.02 percent to 4,544 points. 

In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index increased 0.69 percent to 4,056 points, and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index rose by 1.39 percent to 15,714 points at the midday close.
