Hang Seng Index back to 23,000 points by midday break

Hong Kong stocks rose above the 23,000-point level at noon on Monday, boosted by tech shares.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index jumped by 481 points, or 2.12 percent, to 23,153 at noon.

The Hang Seng Tech Index went up 3.68 percent to 4,412 points at noon. 

In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index increased 0.17 percent to 4,034 points, and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index went down by 1.21 percent to 15,591 points at the midday close.
