China’s auto sales, including shipments abroad, fell 15.4 percent in February from a year earlier, the biggest decline since February 2024, as seasonal factors aggravated a downtrend in the world’s largest auto market, where reduced incentives weigh on demand.

Sales at home plunged 34.2 percent to 0.95 million vehicles, dampening a rise of 58 percent in exports which totalled 0.59 million units last month, data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers showed on Wednesday.
Automaking and other economic activities are subject to big swings in the first two months, due to shifts in the timing of Lunar New Year holidays.
Domestic car sales and exports were down 10.7 percent in the first two months.
