Hong Kong stocks rally at the open, HSI back to 26,000 points level

Hong Kong shares opened higher on Wednesday, boosted by major tech names.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 152 points, or 0.59 percent, to 26,112.

The tech gauge increased 0.87 percent to 5,104.

Tencent (0700) extended gains a day before, up 4 percent at the opening.

NIO (9866) surged 15 percent after achieving its first-ever quarterly profit.

As oil prices kept volatilizing, CNOOC (0883) and PetroChina (0857) pulled back 0.6 percent and 0.4 percent, marking the worst performances among blue chips.
