Hong Kong singer Kay Tse has donated HK$1 million to victims of the Wang Fuk Court fire through a joint donation with her husband Louis Cheung, while expressing profound grief over former neighbors and classmates killed in the blaze.
Tse, who lived in the estate before marriage, described watching her former home and community consumed by flames as "indescribably heavy." She honored firefighters and ambulance personnel for their "utmost courage and selfless contributions," particularly expressing condolences to the family of fallen firefighter Ho Wai-ho.
The singer acknowledged receiving numerous inquiries from friends remembering her connection to the estate and encouraged Hongkongers to "allow themselves to grieve" while supporting each other. She noted that every gesture and act of kindness helps affected families recover, emphasizing "though the fire was merciless and homes collapsed, we can still become each other's support."
