Malaysian rapper Namewee, aka Wee Meng-chee, has publicly rejected allegations surrounding his involvement in the death of Taiwanese influencer Iris Hsieh Yu-hsin.
The rapper took to Instagram on Sunday (Nov 2) to address what he characterized as "unsubstantiated news reports" linking him to the tragic incident, after Hsieh was found dead in a hotel bathtub in Malaysia last month.
Following her death, rumors began circulating that implicated Namewee in her passing, particularly suggesting drug use.
In his statement, the 42-year-old rapper assured his followers that the truth would come to light once the police reports regarding the case are made public in the coming months.
"I haven't used drugs, nor have I been carrying any. At most, I've been drinking more lately. Believe it or not, the truth will come out when the police report is released, which should take another two or three months," he wrote.
He also expressed sadness over Hsieh's death.
