Five men arrested for robbing Tsim Sha Tsui jewelry store

Police caught five men attempting to rob a jewelry store before they could commit the crime in Tsim Sha Tsui on Tuesday morning.

Shortly before 12 pm, the police received a report that five men with knives and hammers were seen busting into a VIPStation Jewelry store on Haiphong Road.

The police swiftly arrived at the scene and arrested the five South Asian men, aged between 22 and 35, on the spot. 

Fortunately, there were no losses to the jewelry store. Officers have cordoned off the area and are currently investigating the incident.

Several masked men were seen going in and out of the cordoned-off jewelry store. It was learned that they belonged to the police force's "Hit Team" - or the Surveillance Support Unit - and tasked with tailing the robbers.

It is believed that the police had received a tip-off earlier, identifying the robbers involved in the case.

The police had been tracking the thieves' whereabouts until they took a sedan to Haiphong Road where they were apprehended on the spot.
