A 70-year-old taxi driver was hospitalized on Thursday night after he lost consciousness and struck a lamppost at Chek Lap Kok.
Around 10 p.m. yesterday (Jan 11), a taxi with a passenger was leaving the airport parking lot when the driver, surnamed Law, suddenly lost consciousness while leaving the gates.
The taxi then lost control and struck a lamppost in the area.
Paramedics were alerted to the scene and took Law, who was injured but still breathing, to North Lantau Hospital for medical attention.
The passenger was, fortunately, uninjured.
The police are investigating the cause of the accident based on his prior medical condition.
