Three diners were fined HK$5,000 after they failed to write down their information when entering a restaurant in Jordan.
Their breach also caused the Dine Inn restaurant to be banned from offering dine-in dinners for two weeks.
In a Facebook post, the restaurant reminded customers that not only should they use the Leave Home Safe app or write their details on a form, they should fill out the form carefully. “Please fill in the form, and do so without missing a word. Some customers have been fined because they were too brief,” the restaurant said.
Police said in an operation on Saturday, they found seven diners failed to use the Leave Home Safe app or fill in their details appropriately in declaration forms.
The seven were fined, and the restaurant has been downgraded to type A, meaning it is banned from operations after 6pm and can only seat a maximum of two people at each table. The penalty will be imposed until September 18.
