Swedish police shot and killed a man and discovered a woman's body after responding to a reported assault at a house in the northern town of Boden on Thursday.
Police said they received reports that a man in his 20s had attacked occupants with a weapon. Officers opened fire while trying to arrest him. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The body of a 55-year-old woman was found at the address. Two other injured people were taken to hospital.
Boden is about 80 kilometers south of the Arctic Circle and home to Sweden's 19th Infantry Regiment.
