German confectionery giant Haribo has issued a product recall for its Haribo Happy Cola F!ZZ gummies in the Netherlands after authorities detected cannabis contamination, with multiple consumers reporting adverse effects after consumption.
The affected products are 1kg bags bearing batch number "L341" with an expiration date of January 2026.
Haribo's Netherlands division confirmed the voluntary recall in a statement, emphasizing full cooperation with ongoing investigations to determine how the substance entered their production line.
Dutch authorities initiated the probe after receiving multiple reports of consumers experiencing dizziness and other discomfort after eating the candy. Laboratory tests subsequently identified cannabis components in some samples.
The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority has warned the public against consuming the implicated batch, noting the cannabis contamination could cause symptoms such as headaches.
