LeBron James sat out of the Los Angeles Lakers’ game against the San Antonio Spurs yesterday due to left foot arthritis, a decision that disqualifies him for consideration for what would have been a 22nd straight appearance on an All-NBA team.
Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, Deandre Ayton and Marcus Smart also out the game, which the Spurs handily won 136-108.
James, 41, has been on one of the three All-NBA postseason teams in each of his last 21 seasons, but he has now missed 18 games this season. Players must play in at least 65 games to be considered for end-of-season awards.
Meanwhile, Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram has been chosen to replace injured Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry in the All-Star Game on Monday (HK time).
