The 2024 Miss Universe Hong Kong pageant held its first interview round on Saturday. Former Miss Hong Kong Anne Heung Hoi-lam and pageant coordinator Kimmy Low were on the panel that selected 15 semi-finalists.
Over 100 candidates aged 18 to 44 took part, including previous Miss Hong Kong contestants and other pageant veterans.

Heung, commenting on the highly anticipated return of the pageant, said "the candidates exhibited remarkable confidence and poise, even as many faced the media for the first time."
She praised the candidates' "striking beauty and exceptional inner qualities," saying "they expressed their thoughts and experiences with self-assurance, showcasing exceptional communication skills, adaptability, and the unique charm of Hong Kong women."
Low said she looks forward to seeing the 15 "reach new heights of excellence in the semi-finals."
The candidate chosen to represent Hong Kong at the Miss Universe 2024 finals in Mexico will win a HK$1 million cash prize. The first and second runners-up will receive HK$200,000 and HK$100,000, respectively.
