Richard Li Tzar-kai has donated HK$20 million under his own name to support people affected by the deadly downpours, flooding and landslips in the Jingjinji Metropolitan Region including Beijing and Hebei province.As a businessman in Hong Kong Li said he had to help compatriots, and he called on other SAR citizens to respond to the disastrous situation so people there can resume normal lives as soon as possible.
Li gave the money to the China Charity Federation through the Liaison Office in Hong Kong. The office in turn praised him for showing compassion to mainlanders.
