Woman arrested after passerby injured by falling signboard in Central

A man was injured in Central on Sunday morning after a signboard fell from a building, prompting police to arrest an elderly woman in connection with the incident.

The incident occurred at around 11.30am at 38 Cochrane Street, where a passerby reported that a man had been struck by a falling signboard. The victim suffered injuries to his mouth, stomach, and legs. The injured man was able to seek medical attention on his own.

Initial investigations revealed that the signboard, measuring about 1 meter by 0.5 meters, had fallen from the building's exterior wall.

Police later arrested a woman in her 80s on suspicion of "allowing the drop of objects from buildings." She has since been released on bail while the investigation continues.
