Woman arrested in Tai Po with $56,000 worth of etomidate capsules

A 45-year-old woman was arrested in Tai Po on Tuesday after police found 200 suspected etomidate e-cigarette capsules worth about HK$56,000 in her possession.

Officers from the Tai Po district anti-triad squad conducted a drug operation following intelligence and investigation. The woman was stopped on On Fu Road, where the capsules were seized from her.

She was arrested on suspicion of trafficking in dangerous drugs and is being detained for investigation.

Police reiterated that trafficking in dangerous drugs is a serious offence, carrying a maximum penalty of a HK$5 million fine and life imprisonment upon conviction.
