Western Rail Link may connect HKIA with Guangzhou

Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Rail Link could be extended to connect Hong Kong International Airport and Guangzhou’s Nansha district, mainland media reported.

The cross-border railway is planned to connect Hung Shui Kiu with Qianhai in Shenzhen, while its blueprint reserves the option of making the airport its starting point, linking it through the Northern Metropolis, according to Guangdong transport authorities.

Meanwhile, the Airport Authority has announced that Terminal 1 of HKIA will undergo upgrades once Terminal 2 begins operations to improve service quality and passenger experience.
