The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) and the Guangzhou Municipal Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to boost horse-themed culture, sports, and tourism across the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
The agreement, inked at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, aims to promote the “Two Cities, Three Racecourses” concept, namely Happy Valley and Sha Tin Racecourses in Hong Kong and Conghua Racecourse in Guangzhou.
The aim is to support Guangzhou as a world-class tourism city and to strengthen Hong Kong’s position as Asia’s events capital.
Under the partnership, both sides will collaborate on policy support, joint promotions, and the design of racing tourism products, as well as cultivate talent in the equine industry.
A highlight of the initiative will be the launch of international-standard races and cultural events at Conghua Racecourse this October.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club will launch international-standard racing at Conghua Racecourse starting from October 2026, complemented by a wide range of equine-related events and activities, to showcase the world-class quality of the Club’s racing, equestrian sports and entertainment. (HKJC)
