An 11-year-old boy attempted to steer a moving car for nearly 100 meters after his father fainted at the wheel in Kennedy Town on Monday evening.
The 47-year-old Hui surnamed man was driving his son along Shing Sai Road westbound near Belcher Bay Park at around 6pm when he lost consciousness.
The boy tried to control the vehicle from the passenger seat as it continued along Sands Street. It collided with a seven-seater vehicle near the junction with Catchick Street before proceeding for about another 100 meters.
The car finally came to a stop after hitting crash barriers at the junction with Rock Hill Street. The private car's front was damaged while the seven-seater's rear was dented. No pedestrians were hurt.
Paramedics rushed the unconscious driver to hospital. Police are investigating the incident.
