The four-day Education & Careers Expo 2026 kicked off on Thursday at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, featuring more than 860 organizations from 23 regions showcasing opportunities for further education, training and employment information.
A total of 31 government bureaus and departments have taken part in the event. A young visitor who worked as an engineer expressed interest in technical positions and civil service roles at the Housing Department.
A middle-aged woman said she found her current clerical job rather dull and stressful, hoping to explore new job opportunities to change her working environment.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Secretary for Education Christine Choi Yuk-lin noted that the event aligns with the government’s policy, which aims to provide flexible and diverse pathways for young people to pursue post-secondary education.
Executive Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council Sophia Chong Suk-fan said that the expo will promote Hong Kong’s quality education and support the city’s development as a talent hub.
