CE meets CPPCC Vice Chairman Jiang Zuojun

Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu met with Jiang Zuojun, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Chairman of the China Zhi Gong Party, at Government House this afternoon.

The meeting focused on exchanging views on issues of mutual interest, with both parties discussing matters of common concern to Hong Kong and the mainland.

Joining the discussions were Chief Secretary Eric Chan Kwok-ki and Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Clement Woo Kin-man.

During the meeting, Lee extended a warm welcome to Jiang and his delegation, expressing appreciation for the central government’s ongoing support and attention to CPPCC members from Hong Kong.

The Chief Executive also thanked Jiang for the valuable opinions and suggestions the CPPCC has provided for the SAR government.

Lee said the SAR government is committed to promoting continued exchanges with National People's Congress (NPC) and CPPCC members from Hong Kong, as well as Hong Kong members of provincial committees of CPPCC. These efforts aim to strengthen communication and cooperation, unite patriotic forces in Hong Kong, and jointly pursue development opportunities, he added.
